JessDiscover - What's in a name?

One of my amazing friends, who is a very influential person in my life, loves to use my name in place of the word "just." After months of  him going, "Jess sayin" or "you Jess did that?" this has become an inside joke with us. So I thought, " why not use my name like that in my blog title?"

Why discover, you ask? Well, I'm going to answer your question with a question. My students love that! NOT! As a science teacher though, I gotta make ya think! So here goes... What a better inspiration to post than discovery? Why not post things as I try them out or discover them, be it sewing, cooking, or teaching strategies?

What I'm all about?

I graduated from the University of North Georgia last year and I am on my way to finishing my first year as a teacher. My certification is in grades 4-8, math and science. Enough with all the official stuff though. I have a huge passion for my students and their bright futures, and I love every minute of being in the classroom (Even the stressful times, because what's a little accomplishment without some struggle?) In my (little) spare time, I love to sew, cook, garden, hike, and hang out with furry friends. Therefore, you will see me posting a wide variety of things related to those topics mentioned above.

What am I doing posting a blog?

I want to share my ideas, my knowledge, and my experiences. Simple as that. I'd love to share my cooking or sewing creations. I'd love to also share random tidbits from my day, from time to time as well. I love road-testing Pinterest ideas, my own ideas as well. I am a Pinterest junkie!
